Hi, I’m Stuart. I have a recently acquired disability and I live in New South Wales.
It’s taken me more than 600 days to get an SDA that is liveable in my plan.
I’ve gone from an able-bodied person who enjoyed working, who enjoyed life, was a traveller, suddenly to someone in a wheelchair where I’m basically housebound.
I had to wait 21 months for an SDA that gave me the ability to live life like I should.
The mental health stress of having to wait on top of dealing with being unable to walk any more, it’s just so detrimental and soul destroying.
