Hi, my name is John. I used to be a concreter. I actually had an abscess in my spine, ended up being a C3 quadriplegic and now I’ve got a disability.
I’ve been waiting over a year to get the correct SDA into my plan. While I’ve been waiting for this approval to come through there’s actually been an apartment waiting for me and I’ve spent more than $80,000 in the accommodation where I’m staying now.
“It’s absolutely a huge waste of money”
It’s impacted me massively since I’ve been here - I can’t get under a bench to try and feed myself, I can’t turn on a light switch, I can’t control anything in the house so it’s no good for my rehabilitation. It’s not good for my mental state either.
